16-17 Feb 2017 Mainz (Germany)

The workshop "Bridging the Scales in Glasses III" will take place in Mainz, February 16-17 following previous installments in Dresden (2013) and Düsseldorf (2012), and also the CECAM workshop "The role of local structure in dynamical arrest" held in 2015 in Mainz.

The workshop will be on the structure and dynamics of amorphous solids (glasses and jammed materials) with a special focus on shear and mechanical response. It shall bring together scientists from physics, chemistry, and engineering working both on fundamental and applied problems.

If you are interested to contribute please submit an abstract for a talk (40 minutes including discussions) or a poster presentation. The deadline for abstract submission is December 2nd. The final program will be available end of January. The meeting will start on Thursday morning and end on Friday early afternoon. On Thursday night there will be a social dinner.

The fee for regular participants is 50 EUR to be paid on-site.

The workshop is taking place on campus of the University of Mainz in the "Senatssaal" on the top floor of the Natural Sciences Building.
