Mainz is easily reached by plane, train, or car.

From FRA to Main Station:

There are several trains leaving at least every 30 minutes from FRA (short distance trains, Regionalbahnhof) with direction Wiesbaden. Caution: the S9 is not stopping in Mainz. The one-way ticket is also valid for the bus.

From Main Station to University:

Here is a link to the map with all lines. You can take a bus (lines 6, 54, 55, 56, 57, watch out for the direction) or streetcar (51 and 53 with direction "Lerchenberg") stopping at "Universität" and walk to the Natural Sciences Building (about 5-10 min, see map).
